David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, a growing and diversified forest products company to recruit an Operations Superintendent that will oversee Woodlands activities in a beautiful and activity-filled city in Northern British Columbia.

Ideally a Registered Professional Forester or Forest Technologist, you will also have experience leading operations personnel and managing contractors. This is a truly unique and rewarding opportunity for someone with the ability to run safe, efficient and profitable operations while also contributing directly to future planning and strategy.

The Role

  • Coordinate and manage woodlands operations to ensure log flow activities are conducted safely, efficiently and to high environmental standards
  • Contribute to the implementation of annual operating plans, budgets and forecasts
  • Prepare and administer contracts
  • Manage inventory (purchasing, sales and transportation)
  • Maintain good rapport with all external agencies, contractors, suppliers, stakeholders and community

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 2 years operational experience within industrial forestry
  • Thorough understanding of forestry regulations, best practices and is committed to risk mitigation and safety
  • Strong Communication skills (written/verbal)
  • Physically fit, capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Valid Driver's License
