Skeena Sawmills Ltd. operates a sawmill in Terrace, British Columbia and conducts forest operations in the Coast Mountains Resource District. We are currently seeking to fill the position of Operations Superintendent.

The Operations Superintendent will oversee all aspects forest operations on company tenures, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and productivity. Specific responsibilities of the position include:

• Coordinate the daily woodlands operations, focusing on maintaining and optimizing the log flow to the mill;

• Ensure operations are conducted safely and to high environmental standards;

• Managing and direct log supply sourcing and procurement;

• Administrate and manage contracts with a focus on cost, quality, and productivity;

• Coordinate, plan, and schedule production to achieve log delivery, inventory, and sales targets;

• Maintain effective relationships with government agencies, contractors, suppliers, First Nations, and stakeholders; and,

• Assist with the preparation and implementation of annual operating plans, budgets, and delivery forecasts.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong safety leadership skills with the ability to identify and reduce risk throughout company operations;

• Two or more years of operational experience and be registered, or eligible for registration, as an RPF or RFT with the Association of BC Forest Professionals;

• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work independently and embrace accountability; and,

• An understanding of pertinent regulations and best practices.
