Operations Superintendent - Nechako Region of BC 
Salary:  $105,000-$120,000 dependent on experience 
Location:  Nechako Region of BC

This role is a critical role in the plant, as the successful incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the plant’s entire production and quality control departments. JOB DESCRIPTION: 
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Operations Superintendent will be responsible for:  
  • Providing excellent leadership to the maintenance team, supervisory staff, and the front line
  • Championing the health and safety culture in the workforce – You will be responsible for encouraging a respectful workplace
  • Mentoring and working with the team to ensure they are on track with their personal goals while ensuring the goals of the organization are met
  • Ensuring the safe coordination of both production and maintenance activities within the site
  • Achieving environmental, operational and financial goals
  • Optimizing productions and maintenance to increase the overall efficiency and revenue of the site
  • Budgeting and forecasting while ensuring performance targets are met
  • Developing and implementing an effective preventative and predictive maintenance program
  • Encouraging the team to create an environment that focuses on innovation and collaboration
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Supervisory experience in a wood products manufacturing facility
  • Experience coaching/mentoring teams
  • Experience supervising multiple departments
  • Experience with change management
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Previous experience in a maintenance department is a key asset
  • Previous experience in a sawmill, planer mill, OSB, pulp mill, etc. is an asset
  • Red Seal Electrician, Millwright or Heavy Duty Mechanic is preferred
  • PMP is an asset
  • PLC experience is an asset
  • Quality control is an asset
  • Lumber Grading ticket is an asset
  • Experiencing operating heavy equipment is an asset

Compensation

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

$105,000-$120,000 - Dependent on experience

3 weeks’ vacation (negotiable)
