We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Superintendent at Apollo Forest Products Ltd. in Fort St. James, BC!
Located in central British Columbia on beautiful Stuart Lake, Fort St. James offers ample outdoor activities year around such as golfing, fresh water fishing, hiking, snow mobiling, cross country skiing, quading and camping. It is within an easy 1 hour 40 minute drive to Prince George, the Capital of Northern BC.

Job Description
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Operations Superintendent provides strong and effective leadership and direction to front line supervisory staff while working closely with all other departments. This role will appeal to individuals who are able to bring out the best in people and who have a keen appetite for career development and for personal growth and achievement.
The Operations Superintendent ensures the safe and efficient coordination of all production activities on the site, including the sawmill, planer, log yard, kilns, lumber yard and shipping; striving to achieve safety, environmental, operational, quality and financial objectives that are consistent with the strategic direction set by the company. This role champions and leads a ‘safety first’ work culture and fosters a respectful workplace environment that engages people in the pursuit of organizational goals and accountability.
Among other responsibilities, the Operations Superintendent:
· Facilitates and promotes a safe and positive working environment, ensuring the highest level of workplace safety
· Ensures compliance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures, and applicable government regulations
· Optimizes production and maintenance performance to improve operational efficiency
· Provides leadership, training and support for operating and maintenance personnel and fosters a highly effective working relationship with all employees
· Facilitates development for supervisory personnel
· Participates in budgeting, forecasting and cost control as it relates to the operation of the plant
· Participates in capital planning and the implementation of those plans
