Operations Forester

Vanderhoof, BC / Fort St. James, BC

Reporting to the Senior Woods Manager, the Operations Forester provides direction and support to the Sinclar Woods Group for our operations in Vanderhoof and Fort St James.  This position requires an individual with a high level of professionalism, a demonstrated background of strong relationship management and an ability to contribute to a positive culture based on mutual trust and respect while delivering results.

Managing approximately 1,300,000 m3 of log consumption, you will enjoy working in a small team environment where individual accountability is a determinant to the success of the team and forestry operations as a whole.  Committed to safety in all that you do, you demonstrate an ability to achieve and maintain program and cost effectiveness while ensuring quality and environmental standards are met.  With a strong focus on stakeholder relations, consultations with First Nations, government and industry are essential components of the position.

As a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) and member of (or eligible for registration) the Association of BC Forest Professionals (ABCFP), you will have a minimum of 10 years related experience and demonstrated professionalism.  You will be detail oriented and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.  Experience working with First Nations Communities is an asset and a valid Class 5 driver’s license is required.
