THE FIRM:

Capacity Forest Management Ltd. is a Campbell River based forest management company specializing in the management of First Nations Forestry Operations. We offer full phase forest tenure management and professional forestry services including: negotiating agreements, operational planning, engineering, permitting, mapping/GIS, logging supervision, planting, and stand tending through to free to grow.

THE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:

We are currently recruiting for an Operations Engineer position to provide forest planning, engineering, permit applications, and supervision services for our First Nation clients. This posting is a senior level position. We are also looking for Field Engineers (Intermediate) that wants to expand their experience.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Capacity Forest Management Ltd. is seeking individuals preferably registered or eligible for registration with the ABCFP as a Forest Technologist (RFT) or Professional Forester (RPF).

A minimum 7 years experience in engineering is preferred for the Operations Engineer position. As a successful candidate for this position, you will possess strong communication skills as well as a proven track record in all aspects of planning, permit applications, budgeting, lay-out, and supervisory skills.

A minimum of 3 years experience is preferred for the Field Engineer position. As a successful candidate for this position, you will possess strong communication skills as well as a proven track record in all aspects of lay-out, office work and supervisory skills.

The area of work includes the Campbell River area, with travel to other areas throughout coastal BC, the southern Okanagan, and northern interior. Shift work is involved. As an integral part of the engineering team, you will be vital to the expansion of the company’s business. Experience in working with First Nations and time spent in the management of harvesting operations are an asset. This position will be a very dynamic and growth oriented role.
