Scotsburn Lumber Ltd. operates a highly modern Stud Sawmill at Scotsburn in Northern Nova Scotia. We are assembling a list of potential candidates for the following position:

Millwright

We are looking for individuals who hold a valid millwright ticket but will consider those individuals in a Millwright Apprenticeship Program or possibly an individual with significant experience working in the millwright trade. This position will be of interest to an ambitious individual capable of broadening his/her skills through training and experience to advance in the Millwright trade. Previous Sawmill employment will be considered an asset.

The successful candidates will be employed in a very fast paced environment working on automated equipment ranging from conveyors, pumps and varied sawmill specific equipment. Shift work and weekend scheduling are the normal operation conditions at this site. Working as a team player, having the ability to multi-task and being an innovative thinker are all essential assets.

Employees in this classification work a 10 or 12 hour shift schedule.  S/he must demonstrate a positive work ethic and have the ability to work and communicate successfully in a team environment, with minimal supervision. Given the nature of this position, being adaptable to various work assignments and conditions is essential.  We are looking for a responsible individual, with a commitment to workplace safety and an ability to make decisions and work alone for extended periods.
