MFP is looking for an experienced Millwright to join our team!  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required. The key areas of focus for this position are as follows; Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery and equipment in a safe and productive manner. Operates hand, machine and power tools, forklifts, manlifts, and welding equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment, including pneumatic and hydraulic apparatus
  • Maintain all material conveying systems according to manufactures specifications and Company standards
  • Supports Company preventative maintenance program; works as an integral part of the maintenance team
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools
  • Effectively communicates with coworkers when notified of breakdowns
  • Follows all lockout / tagout, hot work permit and confined space procedures 

Job Qualifications

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school or
  • Minimum three years related experience and/or training or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain a current forklift operators certification
  • While performing the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand; walk; use hands, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and communicate
  • May frequently be required to sit, smell, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds
