Raute Canada Ltd., located in Delta BC., Canada has an opening for a full time Millwright/Machine Fitter.

This position will report to the Assembly Foreman and be responsible for building and assembling industrial equipment from blueprints and specifications.

The ideal candidate must possess strong mechanical aptitude and skill for mill machinery/automation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining equipment to ensure accuracy and quality, and you must fit, assemble, weld, and build equipment based on engineering requirements and drawings.

A machining background with the ability to operate manual lathe and drill press is mandatory. Journeyman Certificate along with Red Seal Endorsement and a minimum of 5 years' experience in an industrial equipment environment is required. Experience with wood processing machinery an asset. Must have own tools and can lift a minimum 20kg. Must be able to work all shifts.

Millwright / Machine Fitter

Reporting to the Assembly Foreman, you will assist in manufacturing Raute machinery - building and assembling industrial equipment. 

Responsibilities

  •  Ensure machinery and mechanical equipment are built professionally in a timely manner
  •  Fit, assemble, weld and build equipment based on engineering requirements and drawings
  •  Set up, adjust and install major components such as gears, pumps, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies
  •  Move and align subassemblies and components using lift and transporting devices such as overhead cranes and forklift
  •  Inspect parts, subassemblies and finished products to ensure accuracy and quality
  •  Actively promote and follow safe working practices (WHIMIS, knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act), and participate in continuous improvement
  •  Keep a safe and clean work environment by complying with policies, procedures and regulations
  •  Ensure that tools, equipment work areas are maintained in a clean, complete and safe condition
  •  Continual update of technical knowledge through education workshops 

Qualifications and Experience

  •  Journeyman Certification with Red Seal Endorsement required
  •  Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial equipment environment 
  •  Experience working with wood processing machinery an asset
  •  Demonstrated experience in manufacturing and repairing machinery and equipment issues with a practical and hands on approach
  •  Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems
  •  Experience with rigging equipment
  •  Machining background and ability to operate manual lathe, drill press.
  •  Ability to interpret drawings and specifications to determine material and assembly operations
  •  Must be able to utilize precision measurement tools accurately
  •  Must possess a valid driver’s license
