Noramtec Consultants Inc. is currently recruiting for a MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT for a Sawmill facility located in Kenora, Ontario.
Management experience in a UNIONIZED Sawmill environment is essential.
Applicants must be flexible regarding shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Providing oversight & technical expertise regarding all Maintenance activities and projects within the plant
- Responsibility for efficient use of all resources under their supervision – including manpower / labor, materials, parts, etc. – controlling costs, and focusing on machine uptime and safety
- Providing direction regarding installation, maintenance, & repair of machines, tools, equipment, & utility systems to Maintenance team – including Millwrights, Electricians, Saw Filers, & Technicians
- Participation in daily and weekly Production Coordination meetings to ensure priority scheduling of activities; leading Safety and Information Sharing meetings
- Hands-on position – requiring extensive presence on plant floor to monitor each job, ensuring quality and progress
- Installing, running, & monitoring of the CMMS system; verification of PM’s & Work Orders
- Ensuring Maintenance Department is in compliance with various government regulations including environmental, Health & Safety, etc.; maintenance of all relevant documentation
- Leading of ‘Lean’ processes within the Maintenance Department
- Employee Management – including training, grievance resolution, monitoring of vacations, absenteeism, overtime hours, etc.
- Ensuring strict adherence & administration of the Union Collective Agreement, provincial legislations, and company policies
- Timely reporting of all Maintenance Cost & Performance Data – including monthly reporting on the ‘Maintenance Excellence’ Initiative
- Additional duties as required
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of Maintenance Supervisory / Management experience – in a UNIONIZED Industrial Sawmill environment / facility
- Red Seal certification in Electrical or Mechanical Trade; experience with hydraulics and electrical systems is considered a strong asset
- Proven Leadership abilities
- Proficiency with MS Office; solid working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Systems
- Excellent planning, analytical, & organizational skills
