Function and Scope:

Plans and schedules maintenance work to ensure work force productivity and mill effectiveness. Estimates materials, manpower, and equipment for maintenance work, purchasing materials and documenting job plans. Overall responsibility for mill-wide planning and scheduling. In addition, supports Maintenance Manager in any task assigned. Reviews or creates plans for major outages and annual outage. Lead and assist to foster an environment that will continuously improve productivity through innovation in order to achieve exceptional performance of all maintenance personnel and operators.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Maintenance Planning/Scheduling. Responsible for all phases of scheduling and planning, including planning and scheduling of maintenance work, coordination Maintenance and Operations activities, developing shutdown schedules, and conducting outage preparation schedule review meetings. Prioritizes maintenance work schedule to efficiently satisfy needs of the various departments. Coordinates planning efforts around priority items to ensure a cost effective highly productive effort. Conducts weekly meetings with Operations Coordinators to ensure coordination for weekly schedule. Prepares major/annual outage plans and schedules. Conducts major/annual outage planning review meetings and audits.

 

Ensure timely completion of high-quality job plans and schedules.

 

 

 

Perform Maintenance Supervisory duties on a relief basis.

 

Property Protection Supervisor

  • Liaison with insurance underwriter and providers
  • Administration of fire prevention program
  • Oversight of fire protection system maintenance
  • Oversight of asbestos program
  • Oversight of Kat house
  • Oversight of lift trunk maintenance
  • Oversight of scrap metal program

 

Supervise contractors

 

Other duties as assigned

Responsibility and Authority

Employee Relations:

Works as part of the maintenance team as a service group to operations, engineering, and management

Maintenance materials and services

Equipment:

Drives mill performance by minimizing equipment failure and downtime. Ensures that Lean Manufacturing processes are applied to schedules to minimize downtime. Uses computers, maintenance equipment, production equipment, plant facilities and personnel to achieve the goal.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Equiv. Ed. Level Required:

High School plus two-years post high school education, or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience Required:

Five years of relevant experience. Demonstrated expertise with MS Project and planning practices, maintenance craft processes, production equipment and systems, maintenance and construction practices, and supervision. Prior experience managing reliability initiatives in preventative maintenance inspections, lubrication inspections, etc.

 

Knowledge Required:

Computer literate with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and keyboarding skills. Knowledge of planning and scheduling practices. Strong skills demonstrated in leadership, engagement and safety management systems

Compensation

$80,000.00 - $95,000.00 Salary/year
