Our client in the Cariboo Region, British Columbia has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Safe and cost effective maintenance of the mill.
- Utilizing a Maintenance Management System (MMS) as a guiding framework, the duties and responsibilities will include the management of a highly qualified maintenance team, maintaining maximum OEE, managing maintenance budgets and open communications with production personnel.
- Active participation in the operation’s efforts towards providing a safe working environment along with continuous innovation and process improvements initiatives
- Developing and sustaining skills of the maintenance workforce
- Adhere to a defined business processes.
- Effectively execute scheduled maintenance activities.
- Respond to changing priorities and operating conditions.
- Managing R&M costs, ensuring alignment with the business goals.
- Lead with the core belief that safety is paramount above all else.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory maintenance experience within the forest industry, preferably at an OSB operation.
- Experience using a CMMS System.
- Good understanding and prior utilization of preventative maintenance tools such as lubrication, vibration analysis and thermography.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are a must to effectively participate in a team environment.
- A commitment to safe work practices is essential.
- A background and or education in engineering would also be an asset.
