Raute Canada Ltd., located in Delta BC., Canada has an opening for a full time Machinist. This position will report to the General Foreman and be responsible for machining components out of a variety of materials based on blueprints and specifications.

The ideal candidate must be talented on a CNC machine, and possess a high attention to detail, as well as great communication skills. You will be responsible for producing parts for Raute machines and equipment. You must be able to manage all aspects of machining from blueprint to finish with precision.

Journeyman Certificate along with Red Seal Endorsement and 5 – 10 years experience in an industrial equipment environment is required.

Experience with wood processing machinery an asset. Must have own tools and can lift a minimum 20kg. Must be able to work all shifts.

Machinist

Reporting to the General Foreman, you will be manufacturing precision metal components for Raute machines and equipment based on blueprints and/or specifications. 

Responsibilities

  • Review blueprints and specifications for components to be produced
  • Manage all aspects of machining, include planning and calculations, selecting tools for the job, and regulating lubrication and temperature
  • Manage all aspects of machining, programming and setting up machines, selecting tools for the job, and regulating lubrication and temperature
  • Precisely machine components in a variety of materials
  • Monitor accuracy and verify exactness to blueprints and/or specifications
  • Maintain and inspect equipment for problems and replace tools when they become dull
  • Monitor stock inventory and notify of any anticipated shortages in tools or products
  • Provide feedback into process and controls design optimization
  • Document equipment operational and maintenance issues as well as complete production and quality records
  • Actively promote safe working practices, follow good manufacturing practices, and participate in continuous improvement
  • Keep a safe and clean work environment by complying with policies, procedures and regulations
  • Ensure that tools, equipment work areas are maintained in a clean, complete and safe condition

·         Continual update of technical knowledge through education workshops and reviewing technical publications

Qualifications and Experience

  • Journeyman Red Seal Certificate
  • 3-5 years of experience in an industrial equipment environment
  • Highly skilled CNC operation
  • Mechanical aptitude with an ability to troubleshoot issues
  • Ability to travel to customer sites locally throughout Canada and the U.S
  • Must possess a valid passport and driver’s license

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Salary: $50,000.00/Annually
