The position:

Our client is seeking a Lumber Trader to join their growing team in Vancouver, BC. This trader will build relationships with both new and existing customers and provide outstanding account management services on behalf of the organization.

A leader in the sale and distribution of commodities sourced from North America and sold Abroad.

The role:

As a Lumber Trader you will:

• Source, prospect and identify customers and market the company’s products
• Manage relationships with buyers and be accountable for the development of the organization’s customer base
• Coordinate sales activities with team members and suppliers
• Provide technical information, solutions and customer support on products
• Provide market information and intelligence from product sourcing to delivery
• Create and maintain long lasting customer relationships
• Encourage customers to use the online platform for orders, facilitating this process for effective delivery of services
• Attend tradeshows and networking events, as required

What you have:

• Post-secondary education
• 7-10+ years of experience in the lumber industry
• Proven sales and negotiation skills
• Strong facilitation and influencing skills
• Team oriented person
• Proven ability to build business relationships and develop business solutions
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbally and in writing
• Strong time management, follow-up and organizational skills
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and the internet
• Positive and upbeat attitude
