What the Lumber Purchasing Manager does:

  • Sources quality inventory for the company’s lumber facilities
  • Forecasts purchasing needs and sources products that meet standards for quality and pricing
  • Oversees the procurement and logistics team 
  • Assists with strategic purchase planning management
  • Builds relationships with major suppliers, maintaining strong rapport with existing vendors and creating partnerships with new vendors
  • Oversees the inventory management system, including shipping and receiving
  • Acts as the main liaison between the company and suppliers
  • Assists with other duties as required

What the company will expect from you:

  • Previous experience in lumber purchasing
  • Strong relationship management skills and business to business experience
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
  • A positive, motivated attitude with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel, Word and Outlook

Compensation

In return you can expect:

- A competitive salary of $75,000-$95,000 depending upon experience
