Logging Supervisor (Management & Executives)

Parkside is a family owned; Queensland based Hardwood Sawmilling Company which prides themselves in state of the art production of decorative, structural and joinery hardwood products. Currently we are seeking applications for experienced Logging Supervisor for our SEQ Forestry and Freehold Operations and some Western Forestry Operations to service our hardwood sawmill operation in Wondai. 

About the role:

This is a full time role and will primarily be based out of the Wondai Mill Managing the SEQ Log Supply Sale Areas. The Supervisor will be required to regularly travel to the Western Harvesting Areas that supply log to the Wondai Mill. The work involves supervising logging contractors; maintain sales permit conditions through compliance with codes of practices, and log grade quality, Safety Compliance, and general work standards. 

Responsibilities

• Supervision of contractors in near and remote areas
• South East and Western log grading
• Operational Harvesting Plan Assessment
• Sale area inspection
• Private/Free Hold log purchasing
• Liaise with Forestry on all matters associated with managing sale areas 

Criteria

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Experience in Forestry and or Logging Operations is essential
• Good communication skills, computer literacy is essential.
• Qualifications in Forestry and Logging Operations will be highly regarded
• Weekly travel will be required.  Successful applicant must be able to work as far as Injune in the West to Gympie in the East.
