Westar Group of Companies is based out of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and specializes in forestry, aggregate processing, transportation and earthwork.
We are looking for experienced Log Truck Driver's to join our team beginning early November until late March. The log haul will be based in Whitecourt, Alberta.
Employment Terms: Seasonal:F-T
Experience: 3-5 Years
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Oversee the loading and unloading, and strap/unstrap logs to allow for safe transport
- Assist loader operator to assure proper weights are achieved
- Maintain accurate records and logs
- Perform vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance before, during, and after trips; responsible for tire chain-ups and minor repairs as needed while on the road
- Maintain truck interior cleanliness and perform a complete sweep through before switching with cross-shift
- Problem solving when dealing with unexpected situations such as road closures, breakdowns, etc.
- Understanding and location of permits, licenses and registrations
- Must wear proper PPE

Must have a valid Class 1A drivers license and provide a current Driver's Abstract.
