Log Quality Supervisor (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

Rosboro is currently looking for a Log Quality Supervisor. Rosboro is located in Springfield, Oregon, we are one of the country's leading integrated forest products companies, supplying a wide range of trusted engineered wood products, plywood, and dimensional lumber to the home building and commercial construction markets. We have been an employer in Lane County since 1940 and currently have over 200 employees at our Springfield facility.  

Overview 

The Log Quality Supervisor is responsible for implementing and supervising all aspects of Rosboro log quality system. 

Responsibility 

  • Checking Logging Contractors compliance with log quality specification and proper manufacturing of logs. 
  • Completing and summarizing field inspection forms. 
  • Assuring Logging Contractors compliance completing field inspection forms. 
  • Assist Contract Administrator with utilization checks and contract compliance 
  • Log quality checks on incoming purchase logs 
  • Assist Log Yard Supervisor with log quality issues. 

Minimum Experience: 5-7 Years

Requirements

Requirements/Skills 

  • Computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must be organized with good time management skills. 
  • Familiar with Logging Operations. 
  • Must be able to hike logging units with steep slopes. 
  • Must work well in group settings. 

Education / Experience  

Bachelor's degree in Forestry and/or at least five years experience with Forestry/Log Quality related jobs.
