Journeyman Millwright (Maintenance & Trades)

As key member of the Zavisha Sawmills Team, Millwrights report into the Maintenance Supervisor and are responsible for troubleshooting, performing maintenance work and working safely with all machinery in the sawmill and planer mill.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Being a key player in a company-wide continuous improvement efforts;
• Troubleshooting, analyzing, diagnosing, and performing mainte-nance work on plant machinery;
• Contributing in the continuous improvement process by actively participating and sharing ideas in company meetings;
• Participating in preventative and predictive maintenance programs for equipment; and
• Completing basic electrical, hydraulic and mechanical trouble-shooting.

Requirements:

• A valid Inter-Provincial Journeyperson Millwright certification;
• Commitment to safely and creating a safe work place;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision;
• Flexible availability around overtime opportunities;
• Commitment to a Continuous Improvement work environment; and
• Previous sawmill experience would be considered an asset.

The Job:

• Working five days a week, totalling 45 hours per week; and
• Eventually rotating between afternoon and evening shifts.
