Our Corporate Information Technology Department is now accepting applications for consideration for qualified individuals, preferably with sawmill experience, for the Mackenzie or Fort St. James location, for a Contract Term position (12 months).

IT Specialist

Required Qualifications:

Information Technology technical education up to Bachelor’s degree or higher;
Three or more years of professional experience in IT operations and support, which must include:

  • Windows and Macintosh workstation endpoint administration.
  • Ability to support end-users at site and remotely.
  • Proven ability in the administration of Microsoft Active Directory and/or LDAP.
  • Technical skills in most/all of the following: networking, IT security, OS imaging, and mobile.
  • Knowledge of essential network services, including DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
  • Knowledge of common desktop and mobile computing platform hardware and troubleshooting techniques.

An asset to have:

  • Ability to diagnose network problems and maintain network security (an asset)
  • Previous experience including physical server and storage hardware, virtualization technologies, Server Operating Systems and Enterprise Applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritizes user requests, and escalates appropriately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment participating in diverse work groups with Vendors, other specialists and remote resources.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt in a complex and changing environment.
  • Solid understanding of the business of IT service delivery, with emphasis on endpoint management.

Certifications and Other Experience:

  • Industry certifications in Windows Server, MS SQL, desktop support (CompTIA (A+, Networking, Security, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, etc.)
  • Experience in technology of the lumber industry (an asset)
  • Able to travel to multiple sites, working extended hours and weekends.
  • Accommodations maybe provided for those able to relocate for the duration of the contract

Compensation

Salary: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00/Annually
