Heavy Equipment Operator (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

Humboldt Redwood Company, LLC (HRC) was formed in July 2008 through the reorganization of the former Pacific Lumber Company and related entities. Humboldt Redwood consists of forestry as well as lumber manufacturing and distribution operations. HRC is looking for an expereinced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required. • Unload log trucks using appropriate heavy equipment
• Sort and decks logs
• Feed logs into the mill
• Operate sprinklers in log yard; Installs and maintains sprinklers on log decks
• Maintain log yard

• Three years of sawmill experience or 90 days of specialized training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
• Must be able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
