Health & Safety Coordinator (Administration / HR)

Full Time

  Fast Harvesting Ltd

  NZ, Waikato, New Zealand

The Fast Group of companies is a progressive, and busy, forestry business and we are proud to have a comprehensive, up-to-date, and well embedded, Health & Safety programme.

We pride ourselves on being a good employer and keeping our staff safe at work. So, we are always on the lookout for new initiatives to ensure we continue to deliver a safe workplace.

A unique opportunity has become available for a  permanent Health & Safety Coordinator, to work across our business.  The focus of the role is to keep up with our positive safety culture, as well as the moral of our staff, by ensuring we maintain the high and safe standards that are already in place.

Key tasks for this broad and interesting role all centre around ensuring the smooth and effective running of Health & Safety. With a focus on administration and coordination you play a pivotal role supporting our site operations. You'll do this, largely, by:

  • Keeping us up to date with ever-changing H & S legislation, recording and implementing such changes.
  • Planning on-going staff training.
  • Actively being involved 'on the ground' with staff meetings, auditing and record-keeping.

For this role you'll need H&S qualifications, coupled with previous experience in Health & Safety at a coordinator or advisory level.  We are a company committed to developing our people, so on that note, ongoing training in H&S will be given to ensure we continue to support your own career aspirations.

At a personal level, we are, first up, looking for someone with a passion for safety. You'll also need excellent communication skills to enable you to work with people from all walks of life.  Additionally, whilst you'll be a team player, you'll be working fairly autonomously and we'll need you to have great organising, planning and prioritisation skills to ensure so you can effectively manage your own workload.

In return for your commitment we can offer you  ongoing professional development, a supportive team environment and the opportunity to make a difference in your field.
