Muckerts Sawmill (Qld) is seeking to appoint people to the following full time positions.  These roles are based at Laidley (South East Qld) and are paid above award rates.

  1. Log Yard Attendant
  2. Hardwood Timber Benchman
  3. Greenchain Attendant

Log Yard Attendant

  • Organise the log yard and select logs for production
  • Must be certified in operation of a chainsaw and experienced in operation of a front end loader

Experience in a timber log yard is not a pre-requisite for this role.  It would be suited to somebody who has an interest in forestry, harvesting or agricultural activities.

Benchman

  • Operate timber bench saw
  • Must have previous experience operating a bench saw in a hardwood timber mill

Greenchain Attendant

  • Pull timber off greenchain and stack into packs or job lot orders
  • Must be competent with basic mats (ie addition/subtraction)
  • Must be able to drive a forklift
  • Must have a high level of physical fitness
