PRODUCTION MANAGER

Muckerts Sawmill is renowned for providing quality hardwood timber products to both wholesale and retail clients as well as building industry participants.  Muckerts Sawmill sources only the highest grade of native hardwood logs and specialises in the milling of custom orders.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Production Manager who can demonstrate previous success within the Hardwood Timber Industry.   This position is based at Laidley in the Lockyer Valley Region of Queensland.   Laidley is situated half way between Brisbane and Toowoomba, offering a laid back lifestyle with the convenience of city infrastructure less than an hour away. 

Reporting to the Managing director, this role will be responsible for developing and maintaining business systems that allow sales and production targets to be consistently achieved.  The successful person will be responsible for supervising a team of approximately 13 people ensuring that they are working efficiently and effectively in order to maximise delivery of customer orders while minimising downtime and wastage levels. 

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Oversee production reporting processes ensuring KPI's are monitored and timely data is presented to Owner/Director in a timely manner
  • Co-ordinate and supervise production schedules to ensure that customer orders are prioritised and delivered on time and according to budget
  • Manage and mentor team of people
  • Ensure business processes allow a quality end product
  • Drive effectiveness through identification and improvement of processes
  • Implement WH& S processes and systems ensuring a safe workplace culture

Compensation
