First Resource Management Group Inc. (FRMG) is a growth-oriented and innovative forest management firm based in New Liskeard, Ontario, with satellite offices in North Bay and Kirkland Lake. Our team provides sustainable forest management services on multiple management units on over 7 million hectares of Crown forest in Ontario. This creates a unique diversity of forestry challenges and opportunities to learn from other geomatics and GIS professionals. We have a strong geomatics and GIS team that supports our forest management planning and remote sensing services, and produces innovative, accurate and timely spatially referenced information. Our core focus is on forestry planning and support so that our forest industry, government and First Nations clients can focus on their own businesses. We are producing forestry information with our SkyForestTM remote sensing technology in forests across Canada.

We are currently seeking a self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a collaborative environment to join our information management team as a GIS Application Specialist and Geomatics Analyst.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Support our GIS and Geomatics team with client services;
• Produce on-time, accurate high quality products for customers;
• Process GIS data and imagery into derivative products;
• Solve GIS and image processing problems related to client needs;
• Resolve issues raised by clients in a responsive manner.

Specific skills for this position:

• ArcGIS Desktop – ArcMap, ArcCatalog, Spatial Analyst;
• Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Access;
• Knowledgeable in using SQL and other programming languages to build queries in ArcGIS and in relational databases (MS Access);
• Python programming and ability to develop customized editing tools in ArcGIS;
• Undergraduate, M.Sc. or equivalent work experience in GIS, geomatics, remote sensing, or physical geography with a very strong GIS component.
