Orbis, Inc. (Orbis), a leader in the Geospatial Services industry is growing again seeking a dynamic, results oriented Geospatial Technician to join its team of highly regarded GIS professionals. Applications will be accepted immediately and the position is open until filled.

Duties:

The successful applicant will need the skills to conduct spatial and tabular data work including creating, updating, editing, and reviewing spatial and tabular databases, prepare professional quality digital maps, and support clients in the use of custom built GIS applications. The ability to work on multiple projects at once and in a client-support oriented environment is required. 

Education:

This position requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography, Forestry, or a Natural Resources related field. Course work completed should include classes, labs, or independent study concentrating or involving GIS technology & concepts. 

Experience:

The successful candidate will have experience working with ESRI’s suite of ArcGIS Software and have excellent computer skills. Experience with ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, and geodatabase data structure a plus.

Knowledge:

1) Working knowledge of ESRI’s ArcGIS software;

2) Working knowledge of Microsoft Office;

3) Knowledge of cartography;

4) Good written and verbal communication skills;

5) Ability to function well as a team member
