General Labourer (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

Ivor Forest Products, a rapidly growing lumber remanufacturing company located in Chilliwack, BC, is currently seeking 6 general labourers to stack and package lumber and round wood products. We are looking to staff steady positions for both  DAY SHIFT  Monday to Friday (7:00am to 3:30pm) or AFTERNOON SHIFT Monday to Thursday 3:30pm to 2:00am.

The successful applicants would be conscientious, able to work cooperatively with others and follow basic grading and packaging instructions. 

Items being stacked/packaged are not considered excesssively heavy, but the job is repetitive and requires working in an upright standing position throughout the day. 

Depending on performance, opportunities for advancement into higher paying positions will be considered (i.e moulder infeed operator, saw operator, shipping, maintenance & repair assistant, fork lift driver, QC supervisor, first aid attendant).

Having previous experience in manufacturing, a valid fork lift ticket, first aid ticket, a mechanical aptitude, a willingness to work overtime or weekends would all be deemed an asset. Eligibility to participate in the company extended health and dental program would be available after successful completition of 90 days probation

Compensation

STARTING WAGE = $14/hr Day shift or $15/hr afternoon shift. New hires who successfully complete the 90 day probationary period will become eligible to participate in the company's extended health/dental program. Day shifts are Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm of which the employee is paid for 8 hours/shift and is afforded two 15 minute paid coffee breaks and a half hour non paid lunch break. Afternoon shifts are Monday to Thursday from 3:30PM to 2:00AM of which the employee is paid for 10 hours/shift and with two 15 minute paid coffee breaks and a half hour non paid dinner break.
