Forestry Technician - Summer Job

The Regional Water Authority is seeking a Forestry Technician. Under direction of the forester, the technician will conduct forest inventory, prepare silvicultural plans, mark and tally timber and firewood sales, summarize marked timber for sale documents, monitor timber and firewood sales, and undertake independent projects.

Candidates should have completed at least 3 years of a 4-year degree in forestry or natural resource management, have a valid driver’s license, be a US citizen, have a working knowledge of MS Word and Excel, be familiar with ArcView or ArcGIS, possess excellent communication skills, be well versed in tree and shrub identification, and be able to work outdoors under adverse environmental conditions, both independently and as a team. Though technician is expected to have familiarity with forestry concepts, he/she will receive on-the-job training.

Compensation
