The Forestry Technician performs work in forestry, land management and restoration, and other natural resource management functions including tree removals, tree maintenance, reforestation, invasive species management and controlled burns. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS -

Duties include: climbing, conducting tree surveys, assessments and inventories; tree removal, pruning, planting, etc.; preparing sites for tree and brush clearing; applying herbicides and pesticides; assisting with controlled burns; maintaining waterways; and other land management duties. Performs heavy lifting tasks up to 50 pounds. 

EXPERIENCE -

Associates degree and/or certificate in Natural Resource Management, Urban Forestry, Horticulture or related field. Three years of related work experience.  Must have valid Driver’s License and the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License, Class A with airbrake endorsement and a Public Pesticide Operators License within first six months of employment.

Compensation

Rate of Pay: $21.63 - $31.43
