Forestry Technician (Technologists & Technicians)

Jeffcoat Forestry is seeking to fill a temporary Forestry Technician position for the months of June and July. The work schedule will generally be Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm (depending on weather), with a pay rate of $150 per day. The primary duties of the position involve assisting a Forester with data collection on fixed radius plots in forested areas throughout the Savannah River Site located near Aiken, SC. The successful candidate: 

• Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of adverse conditions

•  Must have solid tree identification skills and the ability to read maps
•  
• Must be able to accurately measure tree diameters and heights
•  
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
•  
• Must be able to attend a one-day training session, pass a criminal background check and acquire an access badge to SRS 

Jeffcoat Forestry is a contractor for the USDA Forest Service and provides forestry services at SRS and National Forests in South Carolina.
