FORESTRY PROJECT MANAGER – Kamloops
This is a new position created with one of our clients who is expanding into the world of environmental forestry consulting services.
The job will involve working in the office and outdoors managing small teams of employees and contractors.
Key sectors of project work include Forestry, Highways, Fisheries, and Cultural Resource Management.
This position is full-time permanent and offers an excellent long term career path for a experienced forester with the following skills and experience:
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Ideally you are a registered forester with a minimum of 5 years forestry experience, with a minimum of 3 working in BC;
* An advocate of structured planning and project management processes and reporting tools;
* Good working knowledge of BC Forestry practices and legislation, including harvesting, silvaculture, cruise planning and block layout;
* Must be physically fit as 30% or more of the work will be field related.
* TECHNICAL: Hands-on experience working with ESF and related BC Ministry of Forests applications, as well as expertise using ArcGIS and associated GPS data collection programs;
* COMMUNICATIONS: Excellent writing and presentation skills - able to effectively relate at all organizational levels internally and externally.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree
