◦B.S. in Forestry (or two year technical degree and 4 years of experience)
◦Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, and Access)
◦Knowledge of Species and Silvicultural Practices of East Texas.
◦Knowledge of Best Management Practices and Forest Certification Programs
◦General Computer Proficiency.
◦Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
◦Will be required to write reports and plans, take descriptive notes, and contact landowners and contractors.
◦Must be able to use GPS/Field Computers.
◦Proficiency with ArcGIS/ArcPad preferred
- Applicants must be able to walk long distances, over uneven terrain, through heavy underbrush, and must be able to endure high summer temperatures and high humidity.
- This job will be heavily field oriented (approximately 80% field - 20% office) with daily travel. It is preferred that you provide your own 4x4 vehicle (mileage paid). This is not a requirement however.
