HVP Plantations is one of the largest privately owned plantation managers in Australia with extensive softwood plantations in North East Victoria.
The Role
HVP Plantations has a vacancy for a Forester based at its office in Shelley. Shelley is a picturesque area located in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains and located 50 miles east of the large regional centre of Albury Wodonga.
The previous Forester that filled this role for over 4 years was a Canadian. He has transfered from this position to take on another exciting role at HVP Plantations.
This important role is a part of our Harvesting team that plans and manages contractor based harvesting, road construction & maintenance activities. All operations are in accordance with the companies leading environmental & safety standards.
This role also plays an important role interacting with the local community and stakeholders.
Applicants
Applicants will have the opportunity to practice their extensive forestry skills in an established and well managed 32,000 acre plantation.
They will have relevant industry experience in managing harvesting and roading operations. Good communication and team skills with experience in directing and negotiating with Contractors would be well regarded.
Computer skills are required and a tertiary qualification in forestry or related discipline would be well regarded.
