Position Summary: 
As an integral member of the local management team you will have the opportunity to work with the most innovative conifer seedling producer in the industry with a focus on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. You will oversee all aspects of greenhouse and open compound seedling production and lead an experienced team that takes pride in meeting our customer expectations. Your focus will include financial management, personnel development and leadership, continuous improvement activities, customer focus, overall site safety, and promotion of PRT.

Location: 
PRT Harrop is located 28 kilometers outside the town of Nelson on the west arm of Kootenay Lake. The area is nestled in the rugged Selkirk Mountains of southeastern British Columbia located in the beautiful West Kootenay region, halfway between Vancouver and Calgary. Thanks to the mild climate, you can ski without freezing in the winter and fish without scorching in the summer. This makes Nelson a paradise for outdoor sports enthusiasts. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 
The ideal candidate will have:

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in horticulture, agriculture, or forestry, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Five or more years of horticulture or crop production experience
• Experience leading and managing teams
• Knowledge or experience with continuous process improvement in a production environment (would be an asset)
• Strong planning, organization, and time management skills
• Ability to analyze and work with financial data including developing budgets and financial analysis
• Ability to problem solve and conduct root cause analysis
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS-Excel, MS-Word, and MS-Outlook

Compensation

Salary Range $65,000 - $80,000 plus incentive bonus
