  Olympia, Washington, United States

The Forest Roads Program is looking for a candidate with strong engineering skills, who can mentor in the design of forest road infrastructure, and have the ability to form and maintain positive working relationships with the Natural Resource Engineers across the agency.

As the State Lands expert in the design and installation of fish passage culverts and bridges on DNR lands, you will work on challenging projects that require skills in project management, surveying, design, computer aided drafting, permitting, cost estimating, specification writing, and compliance. In addition to designing projects, you will work with Region Engineers, Heavy Equipment Supervisors, and the Fleet Program to coordinate heavy equipment operations and replacement. Analyzing our heavy equipment needs from the Forest Roads Program's perspective to get the most efficient use from our heavy equipment fleet.

As the Assistant Applicant Agent, this position will provide oversight and management for FEMA storm damage recovery.

DNR offers stimulating and rewarding work, a good work-life balance, and a full benefits package. If are looking for a position where you can capitalize on your skill-set in a supportive, positive work environment, then the Forest Road Design Engineer could be right for you.
