WestFor Management is comprised of multiple Nova Scotia companies who are stakeholders in the forestry industry. Currently WestFor manages forestry operations on Crown Land in Western Nova Scotia.

Position Available

Currently we are looking for a Forest Operations Supervisor for immediate employment. This is a full time position with flexible hours and an attractive wage and benefits package for the right candidate.

The purpose of this role is to understand the operations of the business and facilitate day to day operations efficiently. WestFor is looking for a person who is positive and brings energy to their role. They are organized and willing to change with the needs of the business.

WestFor is a growing company and there is opportunity for the person in this role to increase their responsibilities if successful.

Qualifications:

• Education Required: Post-secondary education in Forestry
• Supervisory experience is considered an asset but not required
• Strong organizational, problem solving, and time management skills
• Desire to work in the field of Forest Management
• Experience in forest road construction and maintenance considered an asset but not required
• Ability and willingness to work in forest field environment under self direction a must

Key Responsibilities:

• Meeting quality, safety, and environmental standards
• Performance management, scheduling and supervising contractors performing forest operations, primarily harvesting and road construction
• Identifying opportunities for operation improvement
