TFS has approximately 12,000 hectares of Indian Sandalwood trees established in the tropical north of Australia (Western Australia, Northern Territory and Queensland).  TFS plantations are owned and managed on behalf of shareholders and both retail and institutional investors. Through the acquisition of renowned distiller Mt Romance, TFS can also offer organic Sandalwood oil to buyers in the global fragrance market.

With over 15 years of experience in both the cultivation of Indian Sandalwood and the distillation of WA Sandalwood oil, TFS has consolidated its position in the global Sandalwood industry – from soil to oil to shelf.

TFS has one of the largest horticultural land and pressurized drip irrigation development projects underway in Australia in its Northern Territory operations; as a result, the NT operations team is looking to expand their skilled staff.

Reporting to the Douglas Daly Plantation Manager, the Forest Manager will be responsible for the daily coordination of the plantation maintenance operations including machinery operations, weed control and management of staff and contractors.

Based in the Douglas Daly Region of the Northern Territory, the successful candidate will be a hands on person with the ability to provide leadership and practical innovation to the team. 

Knowledge and skills

Essential:

  • Minimum two years' experience in Forestry/Agriculture/Horticulture
  • Formal qualifications in Agriculture/Forestry/Horticulture
  • Experience in coordinating and managing teams
  •  Current C – class driver's license
  • Comprehensive leadership and communication skills
  • Comprehensive time management and organisational skills
  • Experience in agricultural/horticultural chemical application
  • Ability to carry out duties safely in accordance with OHS regulation

Desirable

  • Experience in large scale irrigation systems
  • Occupational or Remote First Aid
  • HR driver's license
  • Chemical Users certificate

Compensation

Salary: $65,000 - $70,000

An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate.
