Field Forester (Forester)

 To assist SFC Land Managers in completing projects that accomplish the desired objectives for landowners. Primary responsibilities include: timber marking, timber inventory, marking sale boundaries, supervision of logging activities, prescribed burning, fire line installation, supervision of reforestation activities, invasive species monitoring and control, collection of GPS field data, tractor work, and other miscellaneous field work. 

 • A minimum two-year forestry degree or related field 
   • The ability to complete task in an efficient manner while working both independently and with others 
   • The ability to traverse uneven forested terrain and work in variable weather conditions 
   • Experience with operating atvs and farm tractors 
   • Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook 
   • Experience with GIS is favorable 
   • Must have a valid driver’s license.
