Fiber Procurement Manager (Management & Executives)

Job Summary 
Responsible for purchasing the quantity and quality of raw materials (chips, sawdust, pole-wood & hog fuel) necessary for mill production and energy consumption. 
Responsibilities 
  • Manage the purchase of all fiber, including establishing suppliers, pricing and contracts 
  • Conduct timely fiber purchases for mill operations while maintaining quality specifications and meeting required inventory minimum levels. 
  • Maintain cost effective fiber deliveries to continually maximize profit. 
  • Promote mill and supplier relationship to assure consistent fiber deliveries 
  • Inform Accounting of all new supplier contracts and contract changes   
  • Coordinate supplier deliveries with Scale House to assure all deliveries are received according to contracts 
  • Monitor fiber purchases (volume & pricing) to provide management accurate delivery information 
  • Establish and monitor inventory levels 
  • Provide Accounting with monthly pole-wood physical inventory 
  • Ensure quality standards are met as defined by internal customers 
  • Motivate, and provide feedback and guidance to Fiber Procurement employees in order to meet all goals of the Fiber Procurement Department 
  • Work with all plant personnel, suppliers and trucking companies to provide fiber in the most efficient and safest way possible  
Requirements  
  • Bachelor’s degree in any the following fields: accounting, business finance, law, contracts, purchasing, industrial management, quantitative methods, or organization and management and five years of professional procurement/purchasing experience; or equivalent work experience 
  • Minimum 5 years management or supervisory experience

  • Working knowledge of MS Office Word, Excel, Access, Project and standard industry procurement software and databases

Work Conditions 
  • On-call availability and periodic overtime

Minimum Experience: 5-7 years
Minimum Education: BA/BS/Undergraduate

Compensation

$60,000.00 - $85,000.00 (Yearly Salary)
