EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:
Experienced Silviculture Surveyor (full time seasonal)

START DATE:
• Mid September

LOCATION:  
• Based out of Parksville with work in Port Alberni, Campbell River and Sayward.

WORK SCHEDULE:

• Monday to Friday
• Field days: minimum 10 hours including some paid driving time
• Office days: 8 hours

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• performing various silviculture assessments (survival, regeneration, and free growing) using an iPad for data collection

QUALIFICATIONS: • Experienced in  silviculture surveys

• Knowledge of BC south coast ecology, trees and plant communities  

• Use of iPad for data collection

• Physically fit

• Valid class 5 driver’s license  

• OFA level 1 first aid

• good computer skills

• have a reliable vehicle to get to and from home to the marshalling point each day  

ASSETS:

Prefer an RFT or an Accredited Silviculture Surveyor but will accept someone with at least two seasons of coastal survey experience.

Compensation

WAGES:  

Depends on experience.  
Range: $18.00 to $21.00/hour
