Direct hire opportunity for an Engineering Manager in Indiana. The engineering manager is responsible for overseeing the Maintenance, Electrical and Purchasing Departments.
Additional responsibilities may include designing smaller projects within financial and operational scope, and implementing moderate projects, or sub-sets of complex projects. Pulp & paper experience preferred.
 
Must be able to:

  • Coordinate activities with management to review projects, objectives, timelines, and project tasks.
  • Apply fundamental engineering principles and practices while performing research on vendors, equipment, processes, and other areas as required examining potential solutions or recommending appropriate actions.  
  • Respond to complex questions and concerns from management, investigate process, equipment, quality, and other problems or areas and determine appropriate solutions. 
  • Interpret and apply department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations; ensure compliance with these areas.
  • Implement and monitor small to complex projects that impact general operations to ensure objectives and timelines are met and works with management or plant personnel as required.  
  • Lead on-going and updated operations, processes, equipment, and related areas, develop and review a variety of reports and documents, and adjust equipment or activities as needed.
  • Complete appropriate forms and documentation regarding projects to receive budget, operational, and final approval; approve projects under span of control. 
  • Manage the maintenance, electrical and purchasing departments including assigning and monitoring work and providing direction. 
  • Supervise staff to include hiring, training, evaluating performance, providing compensation recommendations, and determining disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience working in Maintenance and Electrical Departments. Minimum of 5 years working as Engineer. Previous Pulp and Paper experience is preferred.
 
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
