West Fraser Timber Co Ltd. is an integrated forest products company producing lumber, wood chips, fiberboard, plywood, pulp, and newsprint in Canada and the United States.  The company has 15 lumber-producing locations throughout the U.S. South.  This position is located at West Fraser’s corporate headquarters in Germantown, Tennessee. The Electrical Engineer will work closely with senior leadership and field general managers.  The position is primarily involved in capital projects, equipment troubleshooting, developing and implementing improvements and assisting the operations with technical support and training. 

The Electrical Engineer will report to the Vice President of Manufacturing.

Responsibilities Include:
• Manage and support project teams to develop and implement capital projects
• Provide manufacturing engineering support throughout the business as needed
• Write equipment specifications
• Assist with project scopes and estimates
• Research and recommend new equipment and equipment replacements
• Act as technical resource in supporting plant electricians
• Inspect and supervise electrical contract work
• Communicates NEC requirements to the divisions
• Assist with project electrical budgets
• Manage Company electrical training programs

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in manufacturing
• Understands NFPA 70E requirements
• Thorough understanding of NEC requirements
• Excellent management and communications skills
• Experience in project management and implementation
• Superior verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to travel frequently
