Our client is an established and highly reputable industrial electrical contractor working with industries such as forestry, pulp and paper, power generation, oil and gas. They are headquartered in British Columbia, Canada and they are experiencing tremendous growth in the United States, particularly in the southeast and they already have confirmed projects and expecting more in the region. With this, we are search for their Electrical Engineer based in the US, ideally in the southeast to initially work out of their home office. The company will be opening up an office in Georgia where the successful candidate can work out of eventually. 

The ideal candidate will be a licensed professional engineer in the state of Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida and Arkansas. Nevertheless, junior engineers without a license are urged to apply. This is a permanent, full-time position with opportunities for growth and advancement.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Prepare electrical engineering and design for industrial plants and processes including MV, LV power distribution, MCCs, power and control schemes, single line diagrams, PLC systems, equipment and cable tray layouts, cable schedules, cable and conduit routings, grounding and lighting layouts
  • Performing Arc Flash studies and other power related studies
  • Project management and coordination with consultants, vendors, and clients
  • Ensure projects are within scope and design, on budget and on time.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and I&C issues

    Qualifications 

  • Experience in electrical engineering and design for industrial plants
  • Experience with projects for forestry, pulp and paper is an asset
  • Licensed Professional Engineer is ideal but a junior engineer will also be considered
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Proficient with engineering software applications such as AutoCAD, Solidworks and ETAP
  • Good experience and understanding of power related studies such as ARC Flash
  • Good understanding of codes and standards; governing regulations and industry standards
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Technical, analytical, keen attention to detail
  • Flexible to travel, mostly throughout the US Southeast (Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, and Arkansas), and establish a home office initially
