Salary:  Up to $98,718.78 annually
Two positions are currently available – Burns Lake and Dawson Creek. Relocation assistance may be provided.

The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations is currently seeking client-focused individuals with senior managerial experience to lead two of its 23 Natural Resource District Teams. We are a dynamic, dedicated, capable group managing a diverse portfolio of very active programs including major licensees, stewardship, woodlots, range, Community Forests, and First Nations Woodland Licenses.
 
As District Manager, you will provide leadership, direction and expert advice on the delivery of exceptional service in integrating and coordinating natural resource services within the respective District. As part of the senior management team, you are responsible for the efficient operation of the District including: operational program delivery, financial management, human resource management, business planning, change management, project management, statutory and delegated decision-making, issue resolution, inter­ and intra-agency coordination, stakeholder and First Nation relations and client service.

Qualifications for this role include: University degree in a field related to Natural Resource Management, Business/Public Administration. Preference may be given for natural resource education; Considerable experience (typically 4-5 or more years) in the following: natural resource experience including some program management, management capacity within the public sector or industry including business and organizational planning accountabilities; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered (e.g. Related Master’s degree plus 3 years related experience; or Diploma in a natural resource field supplemented by 7 or more years of progressive and considerable senior level experience).
