Resource Management Service, LLC. (RMS) is a global forestry-centered investment manager with significant expertise in all phases of institutional timberland investing. Founded and managed by forestry professionals and owned by its employees, RMS is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, with offices across the U.S. South, in Australia, Brazil, New Zealand, and China.

The District Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all timberland management activities within the assigned district(s). The District Manager works closely with other District Managers, the Forestry Manager, Harvesting Manager, and the administrative staff to generate financial returns acceptable to our investors while ensuring alignment with our environmental and social objectives. The
District Manager will also work with other groups within RMS such as Acquisitions and Dispositions,
Resource Planning, and Investment Management.

The District Manager reports to the Region Manager and may have one or more District Foresters supporting his or her efforts.

This district is located in southwest Alabama and is managed out of the Bay Minette, Alabama office.

The district is comprised of approximately 110,000 acres of highly productive investment grade timberland held in both lease and fee ownership. As part of the Florida Region, this district and its manager contribute substantially to the region's net operating results by generating over $7MM in timber income while governing $1.5MM in silvicultural investment expenses annually.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain and promote a safe work environment
- Plan, coordinate, and execute harvesting, silviculture, and other forest management activities
- Maintain and promote compliance with State BMP's, SFI standards, and RMS policies
- Successfully manage multiple harvesting, silvicultural, and service contracts/contractors
simultaneously
- Effectively negotiate terms throughout all phases of the supply chain and service contracts
- Ensure contract compliance through effective communication and contract administration
- Promote forest utilization, merchandising, and marketing of products to the highest value market
- Maintain professional working relationship with primary and secondary market contacts
- Provide timely, effective, and accurate communication to internal and external customers
- Maintain accurate records and data in RMS forest inventory system and GIS
- Manage, lead, or participate in specific region-wide initiatives/programs/tasks
- Provide support and leadership to the administrative staff and support personnel

Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies:

- Bachelor's Degree in Forestry
- Ten or more years of relevant forestry experience
- Demonstrated experience in managing harvesting and silviculture activities
- Ability to perform independently and without direct supervision
- Strong collaborative skills
- Working knowledge of GPS and GIS systems
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills to work well with co-workers, contractors, and general public
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Preferred Skills:
- Working knowledge of current SFI principles and BMP's
- Understanding of soil characteristics and their impact on forest management
- Adaptive to changing roles, responsibilities, and priorities
