Director of Sales, Mill2Market Lumber Services

Forest2Market is seeking a highly motivated professional who can lead our lumber business unit across North America. Our culture attracts candidates who are results-oriented and interested in making an immediate impact on the lumber supply chain as well as their own careers. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of the lumber, the lumber trading supply chain and lumber manufacturing. They will also be capable of meeting sales and customer service objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Meet sales objectives for the existing customer base and recruitment of new customers
  • Advise Mill2Market customers on the integration of our products and services into their business decisions
  • Act as a lumber supply chain expert and advisor to existing and prospective customers in the U.S., providing assistance with contracts, contract renewals, data submissions and report delivery
  • Represent Mill2Market at industry meetings, trade association meetings and trade shows

Desired Skills and Experience

Knowledge

  • Business experience in the solid wood industry and a deep understanding of the North American lumber market
  • An understanding of the basic principles of descriptive statistics, using market information to improve business performance and supply and demand economics

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to interact with customers during the consultative sales process
  • Strong written communications skills, including the ability to write proposals, sales letters and other correspondence
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software

Experience/Education

  • 10+ years of experience in the lumber supply chain
  • Experience with the utility and use of information products, analytical services or benchmarking tools
  • A four-year degree (BA or BS) in forest products, business or a related field is preferred
