$56,478.64 - $64,337.78 annually, plus $38.87 bi-weekly Isolation Allowance

Do you have technical forest management experience and are interested in working with a dynamic team of natural resource specialists?

 

The North Island - Central Coast Natural Resource District is seeking a forest technologist to join our Revenue team.  The position, based in the family-oriented and very affordable community of Port McNeill, will provide technical expertise and analysis of cruise plans and appraisal submissions, including field evaluations, in support of natural resource decision-making.  The Cruising Specialist provides technical advice to other resource technologists, both internal and external to government – and supports the technical delivery of other program areas including waste and residue, scaling, tenure administration, and forest stewardship in both the field and office environments. Qualifications for this role include:

 

  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent in a natural resource field.

  • Registered, or immediately eligible for registration as a Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) or equivalent, with the Association of British Columbia Forest Professionals (ABCFP).

  • Experience performing technical duties and working with key timber pricing policies and procedures, i.e. Cruising Manual; Logging Residue and Waste Manual; and/or Coast Appraisal Manual.

  • Valid B.C. driver’s licence.
