The City of Norfolk is seeking a City Forester to lead the Division of Urban Forestry.

The City Forester will manage all aspects of the City's urban forest of approximately 180,000 trees of which 78,000 trees are inventoried street trees.

The City Forester will administer programs and policies to manage and enhance the City's urban forest while providing direction and oversight to the division's forestry maintenance operations.

The City Forester should possess effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to build relationships with co-works, other city departments and agencies, volunteer groups, and residents of Norfolk.

The City Forester must be well versed in various software applications including GIS, Microsoft Office, and tree inventory databases.

Formal education specializing in Urban Forestry with experience in municipal urban forestry programs is highly desired.

ISA Arborist certification is required. 

Compensation

Salary: $52,020.00 - $86,041.08 Annually
