The schedule for this job is Monday thru Thursday (4-days / 10-hours per day), Swing shift - 3:30pm to 2am

IN THIS FAST PACED, PHYSICALLY DEMANDING JOB YOU WILL… 

  • Demonstrate safe work practices in everything you do
  • Effectively inspect all four sides of lumber to determine lumber grade, length and species to meet current inspection bureau standards
  • Complete daily grade checks within a 5% spread in above/below range for each item based on inspection bureau rules 
    Pull low grade lumber into carts.
  • Proactively communicate and respectfully work with other departments and team members as needed, including; quality control, graders and planer operators

TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU WILL NEED…

  • Grading agency certification through an ALS accredited agency
  • A minimum of 1 year experience grading lumber
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand up to 10 hours a day, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, and move equipment as needed
  • Must be comfortable in year around outdoor temperatures, in loud conditions, with airborne particles (sawdust), and working around moving mechanical equipment
  • To be a positive team player and highly self-motivated individual
  • Proven experience using math skills: Reading tape measures; Digital calipers ;Converting fractions to decimals
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
