Assistant Tree Farm Manager (Management & Executives)

Steigerwaldt Tree Farms, LLC, is currently looking to fill an assistant tree farm manager position, based out of Tomahawk, Wisconsin. This person will assist in managing the Christmas tree farms, wholesale, and retail sales operations.

The ideal candidate would meet the following criteria:

  • Ability to work in a diverse position as a crew leader and manager of Christmas tree farm operations and wholesale and retail sales
  • Ability to work independently in varied settings, both in the field and with clients and other professionals
  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions planting, fertilizing, shearing, harvesting, treating insect and disease problems, cutting boughs and wreath making on an operating Christmas tree farm
  • A team player who is confident, respectful, curious, flexible, and able to work with other professionals in a fast-paced Christmas tree farm and in a forestry consulting business (Steigerwaldt Land Services, Inc.)
  • Ability to work as a forestry or survey technician in the “off-season” and periodically during the year with job duties that include assisting foresters or surveyors in field tasks and marking timber, timber inventory, and timber sale set-up
  • Ability and interest in obtaining a commercial driver’s license and pesticide applicators license
  • Ability and interest in operating equipment associated with an operating Christmas tree farm
  • Ability to assist managing our retail Christmas tree operations for up 4 consecutive weeks in Florida and Mississippi
  • Ability and willingness to work 6 to 7 days a week in peak harvest season from the end of October through approximately a week prior to Christmas
  • Excellent people skills and customer service
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Competent with Microsoft Office software
  • Experience with GPS data collecting and processing preferred, but not necessary
  • Current valid driver’s license. Commercial driver’s license preferred, but not immediately required
